Confirm

Review the complete build summary before launching the VM creation process. This step is your last chance to verify the inputs from all previous steps.

Summary Table

The confirmation screen displays a summary of the VM(s) you’re about to build:

Field

Description

VM

The name or label of the VM (e.g., Lab)

Operating System

The OS image selected in Step 2 (e.g., Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Location

The datacenter or environment selected (e.g., ha-datacenter)

Resource Pool

The compute node selected in Step 3 (e.g., esxi01.sigma-automate.com

Data Store

The storage volume selected (e.g., datastore1)

Customizations

Indicates whether customization was applied to Configuration, Hardware, etc.

Status

Initially set to Not Started—this will update after build execution

Final Actions

  • Review All Fields: Ensure that the OS, compute resource, and customization align with your intent.

  • Click Previous: To go back and modify any step if needed.

  • Click Create: To begin the provisioning process.

Once you click Create, Sigma will:

  • Execute all provisioning steps

  • Run any Task Sequences or User Data scripts (if configured)

  • Monitor VM creation status and log output

Navigation Controls

  • Previous - Returns to Step 6: Customize Configuration

  • Create - Initiates the VM build job

Best Practices

  • Always double-check storage capacity and network/subnet accuracy.

  • Save the build (top right) before creating it to retain a reusable template.

  • Use clear, descriptive VM names to make future tracking easier (e.g., dev-web01, test-db02)

Next Steps After Build

After clicking Create, monitor the build status through:

  • Job logs or build status screens

  • Email or system notifications (if configured)

  • VM dashboard, once completed
