Installation
This topic describes how to setup and configure the Sigma platform for various integrations.
Getting Started
The Sigma platform is available in two deployment options: On-Premises Appliance and Hosted Instance (SaaS).
1. On-Premises Appliance: This option is ideal for integrations with on-premises environments (On Prem VMware vCenter, HyperV) . The appliance is deployed within your local network, providing direct integration with your existing infrastructure.2. Hosted Instance (SaaS): This option is designed for cloud compute environments (AWS, Azure, OCI, and GCP). In this offering, the Sigma platform is hosted and managed by RTechServices, providing a scalable and secure solution without the need for local infrastructure.
On-Premises Appliance
Once a license is obtained, a virtual appliance is provided either directly by RTechServices, or by an authorized Sigma reseller.
The Sigma platform offers an On-Premises Appliance deployment option for customers who prefer to integrate with their on-premises infrastructure. This guide outlines the steps to deploy the Sigma Appliance in VMware vCenter or Microsoft HyperV environments.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure you have the following:
Access to VMware vCenter or Microsoft HyperV Manager with appropriate permissions to deploy virtual appliances.
The Sigma Appliance OVA file provided by RTechServices or an authorized reseller.
Network configuration details (IP address, subnet mask, gateway) for the Sigma Appliance.
Optional: Domain integration details (LDAP server IP, domain name, credentials).
VMware vCenter
Download Sigma Appliance OVA
Obtain the Sigma Appliance OVA file from RTechServices.
Save the OVA file to a location accessible from your VMware vCenter.
Deploy Sigma Appliance in VMware vCenter
Open VMware vSphere Client and log in with appropriate credentials.
Navigate to File > Deploy OVF Template.
Follow the wizard to locate and import the Sigma Appliance OVA file.
Specify deployment details such as name, datastore, network settings (IP address, subnet mask, gateway), and other required parameters.
Complete the deployment wizard and power on the Sigma Appliance.
Optional: Integrate with Domain
Access the Sigma Appliance console or web interface using the provided IP address.
Navigate to the administration settings and locate the domain integration section.
Enter the LDAP server IP, domain name, and administrator credentials.
Test the connection and configure additional settings as required.
Microsoft HyperV
Download Sigma Appliance VHD
Obtain the Sigma Appliance VHD file from RTechServices.
Save the VHD file to a location accessible from your Microsoft HyperV Manager.
Deploy Sigma Appliance in HyperV
Open Microsoft HyperV Manager and log in with appropriate credentials.
Navigate to Action > New > Virtual Machine.
Follow the wizard to create a new virtual machine.
Specify deployment details such as name, generation, memory, network settings (IP address, subnet mask, gateway), and attach the Sigma Appliance VHD file.
Complete the wizard to create the virtual machine and start it.
Optional: Integrate with Domain
Access the Sigma Appliance console or web interface using the provided IP address.
Navigate to the administration settings and locate the domain integration section.
Enter the LDAP server IP, domain name, and administrator credentials.
Test the connection and configure additional settings as required.
Hosted Instance (SaaS)
Once a license is obtained, the specific tenant address/URL will be provided by RTechServices or an authorized reseller, along with first time login instructions.
SaaS Configuration Steps
Access the hosted instance (For example: https://sigma-lab.rtechservices.co/login/ )
Login with the provided credentials.
Navigate to Administration > Environments to connect your environments.
